Realising the return on investment (ROI) in agritech

At the Henty Field Days, guest speakers provided invaluable insights into the ROI farmers can achieve by investing in Agtech. Darren Price from AgScent discusses how breath-based livestock monitoring sensors, for instance, help farmers measure methane emissions, leading to immediate returns by identifying high-emitting animals and improving overall herd productivity. By optimising livestock management, farmers can reduce input costs and increase profitability. Additionally, technologies like weather stations and soil moisture probes help farmers reduce risk and enhance crop production, ensuring long-term value. While the full impact may take a few years to realise, Agtech investments are proven to increase farm efficiency, drive down operational costs, and support a more sustainable, profitable farming future.
